What is Joy - Box ?
Joy - Box is a youth led initiative of bringing joy to lonely nursing home residents. Come join us in creating personalized "hobby" boxes to keep them engaged and mentally stimulated. Click here to sign up to create one or more Joy - Boxes. Our first goal is to deliver 85 boxes by June 1st 2020.
How to make a Joy - Box?
Find a box
This can be a shoe box or any old cardboard box that you can decorate. Write the residents ID on the bottom of the box (found in the signup sheet). If you prefer, you can ship or drop off the supplies to us and we can put it together on your behalf.
Write a message of love
Make a greeting card that's colorful and fun. You can include jokes, drawings, messages of hope, quotes, etc. And don't forget to sign your name.
Personalized Hobbies
Click here to sign up to make boxes for one or more residents. The signup sheet has a list of each resident's preferred activities, organized by category. Include at least two or more games, books, etc. in each box.
*If you don't want to leave your information on the sign up sheet, just put down your initials and email us the resident ID you wish to "adopt".

Box Delivery
Once your box(es) are ready, your two options are:
1. Deliver or Ship the box directly to the nursing home by June 1st 2020 (Contact us for address details)Â
2. Deliver or Ship the box to us by May 28th 2020 and we will pass it on
